i see in the corner you have the maps that are used on the models. can i ask a dumb question about that ? on the base for the sword, what's that black map with the blue swirl? i can see the diffuse and normal maps (is that right? i'm still learning textuing basics ) and i assume that one is what creates the glow, but what's it called?
It's a nice model with a great presentation and fantastic style, but I think the UV space could have been optimized. If I were making it, I'd make four of the base bricks overlap, because I don't think it needs eight unique designs. I'd also overlap the sword's blades because there is no camera angle that will allow you to see both sides. You did a good job with the sword's UV organization but if you made the diffuse a 512x1024 I wonder if you could have gotten more out of your space?
